Three Wheeled Buggies

MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy out with a newborn as well as a 3 wheeled strollers year old and found that it was able to withstand cobbles, grass, rough roads, dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said it felt solid to push, and very solid on difficult terrain. Its tyres, which are inflatable and need to be pumped up occasionally and have a suspension built-in. This was extremely comfortable for my children.

The size and shape of the seat is another thing to consider. It is important for the seat to be large enough to allow your child to feel comfortable and to allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies offer the option of lying flat that allows the child to face you, whereas others only permit a parent-facing option.

Luckily, most models have compact folding options that let you remove the front wheels for more compact storage.

Easy to Manoeuvre

One of the major advantages to a three-wheeled buggy is that it's much easier to maneuver especially with a child on the way. The way in which they are built means that the front wheels rotate at a whim and are really easy to maneuver, making them ideal for difficult terrains such as parks, cobbles and bumpy pavements as well as dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried the 3 wheeler pushchair-wheeler with her toddler. she reported: "The Terrain is a pleasure to drive on rough terrain. The swivel wheel front was especially useful." I was also awed by the way it handled kerbs with the hand-operated break. I found it extremely stable when driving downhill or on uneven ground."

The only drawback to this great maneuverability, is that the larger wheels of a 3 wheel buggy can sometimes make it difficult to squeeze into tight spaces. This is something you should keep in mind if your home area is one of the cities. If this is a concern then a 4-wheel buggy may be a better option for you.
