Our editor in chief found it a breeze to open and close, though she wasn't thrilled by how the handle slides up behind the seat when folded.

The tri-fold is a new travel stroller. It folds in three parts and offers the best combination between compactness and features. The UPPAbaby Miniu, for instance, comes with a reclined seat, a non-structured rear storage pouch, and a lockable clasp to keep it folded. It's a little bigger than the umbrella models of the brand however, it folds more compactly than its G-Luxe and G-Link counterparts and has an adjustable carry strap that fits over your shoulder.

The most effective travel strollers fold up into an easy-to-store size that's easy to fit into the trunk of your car or into the overhead bin of the plane. It's also slightly more robust than an umbrella stroller and has a strap that is padded to take some of the burden off your shoulders.

4. Confortable

The comfort factor is crucial when using strollers for long durations of time. Seats that have plenty of padding and a reclining system that can be adjusted at various angles are ideal. Be sure to check if the canopy extends to provide protection from the sun, and if it comes with mesh windows that allow airflow. Consider a model that has an organizer for parents and a cupholder as well as an enormous basket underneath the seat if you need to carry things with you.
