Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are great for walking around the neighborhood or for jogging. Their compact design makes them easy to manoeuvre, even in tight spaces.
For a smooth ride, opt for a pram with air-filled tyres and look for models with an swivel wheel that rotates 360 degrees in front. They are susceptible, however to punctures. Be prepared with an emergency repair kit.
Sturdy frame
Figures have just been released revealing that the three-wheeled vehicle which was a symbol of the decade of more money than wisdom - is in steep decline. They are being replaced by four-wheelers which can be more versatile in terrain, yet still look swanky and being easy to push.
The general principle is that the larger the wheels, the easier it will be for your buggy to cope with rough ground and bumpy pavements. Having larger wheels both front and back makes it much easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or on difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried the buggy out with the newborn baby and a
3 wheeler buggies-year-old child and found it to be very sturdy. It was able to handle cobbles, grass and rough pavements as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. She said "it feels sturdy to push and extremely solid when you're on rough terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable, so require occasionally pumping) come with suspension built-in, which was very comfortable for my kids.
The size and shape of the seat is a further factor to consider. You want the seat to be big enough for your child to be at ease and to lie down. Certain three-wheel buggies have the option of reclining completely, while others will only allow a parent facing one.
A great choice for tackling off-road or muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. This buggy is ideal for a single child starting from birth and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for toddlers and infants from birth until age 4 and comes with a bumper with a rain cover, an upgraded 5-point harness, and a big padded seat. The storage options are great too, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets inside the hood, and an easy-to-access pouch on the rear of the seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels mean your buggy will be more stable on rough terrain - ideal for off-road buggies. They also help you maneuver the pushchair through narrow spaces. Many
three wheeled buggies have the front wheels that swivel to assist you in maneuvering around tight corners, while others are designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to improve the speed and stability at which they can be pushed. This is particularly useful when you crash into trees or a kerb. The front wheel can be lifted slightly to keep it from hitting it.
Many
3 wheel all terrain pushchair wheel pushchairs feature air-filled tyres, which means they can handle many different terrains and are far more flexible than four wheelers. They are also lighter. However, they are prone to punctures so you'll need a repair kit, spare inner tube and pump handy.
Some of our favourite
3 wheel stroller with bassinet-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. These buggies, according to MFM's Kath, have larger wheels which she claims "perform well on gravel roads, grass and market town cobbles", and can easily go up or down kerbs. They also come with a suspension system that according to her "smoothes out bumps very effectively".
Buggies with bigger wheels can be quite wide and they may be a challenge to fit into tight spaces. This can be problematic if you intend to are using it as a jogger or have to squeeze through doorways that are narrow while traveling. The majority of models come with small folding options that permit you to take off the front wheels and store them in a more compact manner.
Easy to Manoeuvre
One of the primary benefits to a three-wheeled buggy is that it can be much more maneuverable especially with a child on the way. The way in which they are built ensures that the front wheels rotate at a whim and are extremely easy to manoeuvre which makes them perfect for tricky terrain like cobbles, parks or bumpy pavements, as well as dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried out a three-wheeler with her newborn and toddler and said: "The Terrain was a pleasure to maneuver over tough ground and the swivel front wheel being especially helpful. I was also impressed by how well it coped with the kerbs, particularly when using the hand-operated brake. It was very stable for descending or on uneven terrain."
The only drawback of this amazing mobility is that the
3 wheel stroller with car seat wheel buggy's larger wheels do sometimes mean that it can struggle in tight spaces, something to consider especially if you live in a metropolitan area. If this is the case, a 4-wheeled buggy may be the better option for you.

But that's not the only reason to love this buggy Our MFM reviewer Kath loved how spacious it is too. There's an easily accessible large, spacious basket that's surprising spacious for a vehicle of this size. There's also an excellent pouch on the back seat unit, as well as two smaller mesh pockets beneath the hood to keep your phone and keys.
