He was succeeded by Humayun. The empire became instable during his rule. He was pushed out of the Indian subcontinent by rebellions. And then came Akbar the Great. There is no doubt about the fact that one of the greatest mughal emperors was Akbar. He took care of his people like no other mughal emperor. He brought about so many reforms that everyone in the mughal empire was happy under his rule. The most important factor in the history of mughal empire under the rule of Akbar was that he respected all religions. Be it Hindus or Muslims, he considered all of them to be equal. Unlike the aggressive Muslim rulers of the Delhi sultanate, he believed that all religions should deserve its own respect. Due to this nature of Akbar, the trust among people grew and the empire started prospering. When we talk about Mughal history you can't miss the beautiful Mughal coins that were issued under this great ruler.

Shahjahan was no less. He gave a lot of importance to art and literature. One of the biggest landmarks in the history of Mughals is definitely the Taj Mahal, which Shahjahan built in memory of her beloved wife Nur Jahan. He loved his wife so much that he has also issued couplet coins in the name of Nur Jahan. Every Indian is proud of a majestic wonder like Taj Mahal. Not just Indians, but people from all around the world visit India to take a look at this wonderful sample of architecture built under the Mughal rule.

Another important fact about Mughal history is that the kings married princesses from the Rajput dynasty. After a point in time, the Rajputs were actually responsible for administering the Mughal empire. Aurangzeb was not like Shahjahan or Akbar. He was one of the most aggressive Mughal emperors. He had constant clashes with Shivaji during the rise of Maratha Empire. It was after his reign that the fall of Mughal Empire began. His Son Shah Alam tried to control the rising discontent but in vain.

So if we were to do a recap, the most glorious parts of Mughal history has been its contribution to Indian architecture, art and culture. Akbar was one of the very few Muslim rulers who accepted and respected other religions. There was a need for the legacy to continue, but because of the aggressive nature of Aurangzeb, people started getting angry, which finally led to the decline of Mughal empire.
