Tyres

She also noted that the grippy tyres on it made it easy to tackle cobbles and kerbs.

These tyres can be difficult to maintain and require having their air pressure topped up regularly. They are also more prone to punctures than foam tyres so you'll need to make sure that you have repair kits, spare inner tube and pump in case you go out and about with your buggy.

PU tyres can be seen on a lot more pushchairs than air-filled tyres, but they're still as robust. PU tire are easily identifiable by their matte finish and soft feel. They also slide on flat and tidy surfaces.

You can usually discern the distinction between air-filled and PU tire by running your fingers over them, if it feels hard, then it's rubber and if it slides then it's a PU. You can also test whether your buggy is equipped with PU tyres by sliding them on flat, clean surfaces. They should roll easily and fit snugly into the wheel hubs.

Foam tyres can handle the rough terrain of high-performance buggies. This could make your buggy less stable because the foam loses its springy feel. The tyres can also be noisy due to the fact that they create lots of noise when you turn or drive around town.
