Lightest Double StrollerWhen searching for a
lightweight twin buggy double stroller, weight and folded dimensions are important factors to take into consideration. When not in use, pick one that is easy to handle and compact. This will allow it to put it in your car trunk, and also to navigate through airport gates and international roads.
The most lightweight strollers feature an easy, intuitive fold that allows them to stand up on their own. This reduces stress on the body of the parent. Many strollers come with different seating options and some can even accommodate infant car seats.
Kolcraft Cloud Plus
Created for families traveling. Compact and light weight, it has an easy one-handed fold. All-terrain wheels with front suspension, as well as a multi-position reclining seats can will accommodate children as heavy as 50 lbs. The tray for parents and kids, large storage basket, and a three-tiered canopy that has a peekaboo window provide maximum sun protection.
The Cloud received one of the lowest marks in our quality tests due to the fact that it has a flimsy seat, made of hard plastic, and a design which is dated. It's also expensive compared to other strollers that are lighter which is why it's not a good choice if you're looking for an economical alternative.
It's not the most light stroller but it comes with enough features that it is worth considering. Its swiveling wheels make easy to move it around flat surfaces. It can also leap over curbs without much effort. The Cloud's low handle is a drawback, however; it's nearly at knee height, and not adjustable. It's difficult to push it while your legs are dangling in this manner. The lack of padding does not make it any easier.
During testing, we found that the Cloud was simple to set up and opened. It's a little more difficult to close, however; you must slide a slider before you push a large white button for it to collapse. This can be frustrating particularly if you're trying to keep track of kids at the same time.
The Cloud comes with a small but deep storage basket. It can fit an enormous diaper bag. The basket is a bit small and you might have to put something in it to reach the back. The Cloud comes with an adult tray and a child tray each with two cup holders. However, both are too narrow for larger bottles or cups.
Kolcraft is a family-owned business that has been in existence since 1946. Their first products included diapers and crib pads however, they now make various baby items including highchairs, strollers for infants, car seats and toys. The company is based in Chicago and is an American manufacturer.
Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS
Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS is an extremely lightweight, minimalist double stroller that's great for travel. It weighs only 18lbs which is less than some single strollers. and folds flat for easy transport and storage. It also has independently reclining seats as well as large SPF 50 sunvisors that have a peekaboo window. The visors can be adjusted to accommodate children of various heights. Plus, it has an integrated one-step parking brake that is Disney-sized approved.
The swivel wheels of the Jeep are also great for navigating over bumps and uneven surfaces. The stroller does not accept car seats so your kids must be at least 6+ months old and have a solid neck control to ride in the front seat. The stroller has an umbrella sun canopy with three panels and each seat has its own cupholder and snack tray.
Valco Baby Snap Duo Trend is a different incredibly light side by side stroller. It's heavier than the Kolcraft Cloud Plus at 23 lbs, but it's amazingly slim and narrow (26.5 inches wide!) It has a lot of luxurious features that make it perfect for travel. It is easy to fold, is very movable and can be tucked away in the overhead compartments of airplanes and trunks easily.
Like the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ Double and Mountain Buggy Nano Duo, the Joovy Kooper X2 is another tri-fold, ultralight double stroller. It's similar to Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS but it has a few distinct differences. It's more expensive, but it has a better sun canopy and more maneuverability. It comes with a convenient strap for carrying and can hold children weighing up to 44 pounds per seat.
Summer 3D Pac for Infants CS+
If you're looking for a stroller that is light but packed with features look no further than Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+. It's not only crazy lightweight at 13 lbs and offers plenty of storage space in the form of parent and child cup holders, a sippy-cup for the child pocket as well as a parent storage compartment and much more. It can also be used with a child's seat and comes with a brake with a flip-flop feature that can be easily engaged. It's designed to adapt to your child from a newborn stroller to a toddler stroller by simply attaching the car seat adapters (sold separately) and is suitable for children aged 6 months of age and up.
Another thing to consider about this stroller is that it has swivel wheels and doesn't have any locking options, so it might not be the best option for rocky or hilly terrain. It's a great stroller for sidewalks that are paved and other smooth surfaces, however, so it's still an excellent choice for the majority of families.
This stroller is among the lightest
double travel stroller strollers that has large features in a sleek, compact design. It folds with one hand and put away in the trunk or garage. It can be used as a stoller for travel and is compatible with no additional adapters with most car seats.
Contrary to the majority of lightweight strollers, the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ has two separate seats that can accommodate up to 50 pounds per seat (100 lb total). The seats have a multi-position recline, individual leg rests, and three-panel canopies with flip-out sun visors and windows that peek out.
The seats are padded to ensure your infant's comfort. They come with a five-point padded safety harness that can be adjusted to three height positions. Each seat comes with a built-in infant cushion, which is ideal for babies. The cup holders for parent and child, the phone holder and the large storage basket will be appreciated by parents. The stroller can also be outfitted with the Yoyo+ Board, which transforms it into a tandem stroller.
Joovy Kooper X2
The Kooper X2 is an excellent choice for parents who want a
lightweight twin stroller double stroller that can accommodate two children. The sling-style seats are comfy and provide a similar amount of headroom. It also allows kids to sit together. Contrary to other strollers with side-by-side seating, the Kooper X2 offers a fully reclined seat that's an ideal spot to nap. Its recline mechanism is simple to use but doesn't go completely flat. Children who are taller might find they have a dangling leg when sitting in the reclined position. It also has a big canopy that we found to be more effective at blocking out the sun than other strollers in our review of the best double strollers.
The stroller is light enough to easily move through door frames which was a major problem for us with other models we tried. It folds easily and the handlebars are close to the ground, making it easy transport. The only downside is its small storage space. When it's full of kids' stuff it can feel squeezed.
Joovy, a family-owned business, creates innovative, functional and high-quality baby products. Their range of products includes innovative baby bottles like the Joovy Zoom X2 Double stroller and an innovative raincover that fits a wide range of popular strollers. The bottles are reasonably priced and often come with fun designs that appeal to children.
In our tests in the lab, we look at multiple factors in order to determine the ease of use of a double stroller. This includes the ease with which it is possible to fold and set up, how to adjust the safety harness, and how to open and close the brakes. We also carry and lift the strollers folded like they would be put into a trunk, and how to install and remove a infant car seat, if it is needed. We also evaluated the durability and strength of each product, and whether it has a parent tray that can accommodate both child tray.
The Joovy Kooper X2 received the highest score in our Strollers Test Program for its ease of use. It also earned the highest score in our updated guide to the best double strollers. Its simple-to-use design features an easy-to-use, tilt-free recline with one hand, a large canopy that rotates forward for shade, and features a mesh for ventilation that you can see through when it's tilted. There are also individual child trays with built-in cup holders, zip-up parent pockets, and an extra-large storage basket.
